InfoWebPlus built its front end inside a closed CMS in 2022. ## Overview 121 Company Formation sells UK limited company formation online. InfoWebPlus built the site's front end inside a closed, static CMS and is credited as Technical Partner in the footer. This case study looks at what a website that sells a service online needs, using 121 Company Formation as the example. ## The client 121 Company Formation ([121companyformation.co.uk](https://www.121companyformation.co.uk)) registers UK companies and offers the services a new company needs afterwards. As checked on 2 November 2026, its site shows: - four limited company packages with fixed prices: Bronze 110.95 pounds, Gold 192.99 pounds, Platinum 242.99 pounds and Diamond 506.99 pounds, plus LLP, Limited by Guarantee and International options; - extra services such as a registered office address, service address, mail forwarding, confirmation statement, VAT registration and accountancy; - referrals to business bank accounts with partners such as Tide, Barclays, ANNA, Cashplus and Countingup; - contact by phone, email, WhatsApp and live chat. The site also says it has handled over 50,000 UK company formations. That is the client's own figure, not a result of our work. ## The challenge Someone setting up a company wants three answers fast: is my company name available, how much does it cost, and what happens next. A formation website has to answer all three on the first screen and then let the customer pay and finish the process online, without a phone call. ## What the site does - **Name search on the first screen.** The home page opens with a company name field and a "Get Started" button, so the first question is answered straight away. - **Fixed-price packages side by side.** Each package lists exactly what is included, with "Buy now" on every card. - **Order online.** Customers can order online, or call or use live chat to complete the order. - **A clear process after payment.** The site explains that an application goes to Companies House only after a short identity check (proof of ID and address), and that registration usually takes about 24 business hours, subject to Companies House workload. - **Admin portal.** Every package includes a free admin portal where customers manage their company after formation. - **Help content.** Guides, FAQs and a blog answer the questions people ask before and after buying. ## Our role: the front end inside a closed CMS George Barbu of InfoWebPlus worked on the front end of 121 Company Formation in 2022. The site ran on a closed, static CMS supplied by the formation platform eFiling: no backend access, no API and no dynamic rendering. Every content change had to be uploaded as a static HTML file. Within those limits, the work covered: - **Routing without a server.** The CMS had no dynamic URLs, so we designed a templating and file-naming system with fixed path conventions. New pages are generated from those conventions instead of being written by hand. - **A build pipeline with Gulp.js.** Custom Gulp tasks compile, minify and inject the JavaScript and CSS, and assemble the HTML from shared partials, so repeated sections are edited once. - **Interactivity through the file library.** The CMS's file uploader was the only way to ship code, so the JavaScript was written as small modules and bundled, with the CSS minified, to stay within its size limits. That added client-side form validation, UI enhancements and interactive elements to a static site. **Stack:** HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Gulp.js.
