# Custom Software

> Custom internal tools and business software, scoped from your real workflow, integrated with your systems, and built to maintain. We map before we build.

## Overview

Internal tools fail when they're scoped from a features list instead of the actual workflow. We map how the work runs first, replace the spreadsheets and copy-paste bridges, and ship in thin vertical releases you can use immediately.

Two patterns come up constantly: [CRM development](/topics/crm-development) tailored to how your team actually sells, see our [real estate CRM notes](/topics/crm-development/real-estate) for one example, and [automation](/topics/automation) that removes manual steps between the tools you already run.

## What we deliver

- Workflow mapping before scoping
- Integrations with your existing systems
- Thin vertical releases
- Role-based access & audit logs
- Documented handover, code you own
- Support with agreed response times

## Our Process

1. **Workflow mapping**: We map how the work actually runs today, actors, systems, and the steps that hurt, before proposing any build.
2. **Written scope & assumptions**: Scope, assumptions, and tradeoffs in writing. You approve what 'done' means before we start.
3. **Thin vertical slices**: We ship the smallest useful slice first, then iterate, so you see working software early, not a big-bang reveal.
4. **Review in plain language**: Progress reviews you can follow without a translation layer, with direct access to the engineers building it.
5. **Launch & handover**: We deploy, document the system, and hand over code you own, no black-box dependency on us.
6. **Support with clear response times**: Ongoing maintenance and support with agreed response times, from the people who built it.

## FAQ

### Who is custom software for, and who is it not for?

It is for operators whose real process lives in spreadsheets, manual steps, and copy-paste bridges that no off-the-shelf tool fits. It is not for teams whose workflow a proven SaaS already covers, in that case we will tell you to buy, not build.

### What drives the cost of a custom software project?

Cost is driven mainly by how many systems it integrates with, how many unique screens and roles it needs, and how stable the underlying process is. A single-team internal tool and a multi-role platform with external integrations are very different builds - Workflow Mapping narrows the range before a quote.

### Can you work with our existing systems?

Yes - we integrate with the CRM, accounting, scheduling, and other tools you already run rather than forcing a rip-and-replace. Where a clean API exists we use it; where it does not, we build secure middleware with audit logs.

### How is InfoWebPlus different from a large agency?

You work directly with the senior engineer who scopes, builds, and maintains your system, there are no account managers or junior teams in between. InfoWebPlus is a small product engineering studio by design, which means faster decisions and code you own, not agency overhead.

### Do I own the code you write?

Yes. You own the code and the documented handover, there is no black-box dependency on InfoWebPlus. We build on well-supported, maintainable stacks so your team, or another engineer, can run and extend the system later.

### When do you recommend against building software?

When a proven off-the-shelf tool already covers the workflow, when the process is not stable enough to build against yet, or when the total cost of owning custom software outweighs the benefit. We map the workflow first and will tell you when buying or not building is the better call.
