How We Work

How we work, and how we set pricing

No retainer, no fixed bid on undefined work. Time-and-materials billing, scoped first, so the estimate reflects the actual job.

How we work

01

Scope

We map the real workflow first, usually with Workflow Mapping, so the estimate is based on how the work actually happens, not a guess from a project brief.

02

Estimate

You get an hourly rate and a realistic range for your specific project, not a number pulled from nowhere. A narrow, well-defined request gets a tighter range than a large, open-ended one.

03

Build

Work happens in stages you can see, not one long stretch before a reveal. You get real progress to check, not just a delivery date to wait for.

04

Review

Each stage ends with something working, not a status update. You approve before the next stage starts, so the direction is never a surprise.

How we set pricing

Custom work, CRM builds, integrations, internal tools, is billed hourly, not as a fixed bid guessed before we understand the problem. A fixed bid on undefined work either pads the price to absorb the unknowns, or cuts corners to hit a number. Neither helps you.

Workflow Mapping, or a shorter scoping conversation for smaller requests, comes first and turns that hourly rate into a realistic range, not a single number pulled from nowhere. The better-defined the workflow, the tighter the range.

The three catalog services, SEO Audits, Technical SEO Reviews, and Entity Stacking, are the exception: fixed scope, so they carry a fixed price upfront.

No payment upfront on a scoping conversation. We review your request and confirm scope before anything is billed.

Who this is for

Good fit if

  • You have a real workflow that spreadsheets, manual steps, or disconnected tools no longer cover
  • You want an hourly rate and a realistic range before committing, not a number that turns out to be a floor
  • You would rather see progress in stages than wait for one big reveal at the end

Not a fit if

  • You need a fixed, guaranteed price before any scoping happens, we cannot responsibly promise that on undefined work
  • An existing SaaS product already covers your workflow, buying beats building here, and we will say so during scoping

Frequently asked questions

How do you set your hourly rate?
We give you the rate directly during scoping, alongside the estimated range for your specific project. It depends on the type of work, not a public rate card, an integration and a simple internal tool are not the same job.
Who is this a good fit for, and when is it not a fit?
It fits teams with a real workflow that off-the-shelf tools do not cover, who want a realistic range before committing rather than a guaranteed number on undefined work. It is not a fit if an existing SaaS product already covers what you need, buying beats building there, and we will say so.
How long does a typical engagement take?
It depends entirely on scope: a single integration might take a few weeks, a multi-system CRM build can take a few months. Workflow Mapping gives you a specific range for your project before you commit to anything.
How is this different from working with a large agency?
There is no account-manager layer between you and the person doing the work, and no bench of unnamed staff swapped in mid-project. You are billed for actual hours against a scoped estimate, not a monthly retainer that runs whether or not work happens that month.
What if the estimate turns out to be wrong?
If scope changes mid-project, we flag it and re-estimate before continuing, you are never billed past the agreed range without a conversation first. If we simply misjudged the estimate, that is on us to explain, not silently pass on to your invoice.
