How a project actually runs

The same four steps whether the build takes four weeks or four months.

  1. You describe the problem

    A few paragraphs is enough: what breaks today, who it affects, and what you have already tried. There is no brief template to fill in first.

  2. We reply with questions, not a pitch

    Clarifying questions or a short discovery call, never a generic pitch deck. If the honest answer is that an off-the-shelf tool already solves this, you get that answer.

  3. Written scope, assumptions, and a range

    Phases, what is explicitly out of scope, and where the estimate is uncertain. You approve it before anything is built, and changes are priced openly rather than absorbed silently.

  4. Built in slices you can see

    Working software during the build, not a reveal at the end. Handover includes the code, the documentation, and enough context for someone else to maintain it.

Questions about working with us locally

Does distance change how the project runs?
It changes the communication, not the delivery. Decisions get written down instead of settled in a corridor, which most clients find they prefer once they have a record of why things were built the way they were.
Would we ever meet face to face?
For the kick-off or a significant review, yes, when it earns the trip. We will not add travel to an invoice for a meeting that a call would have handled.
What kind of work suits a remote engagement best?
Anything with a definable output: internal tools, integrations, a web application, a migration. Open-ended work with a scope that shifts weekly is harder at any distance, so we scope it into phases first.
