UK company formation

Problem

Company formation is a crowded market where most websites look the same. The site has to stand out and still make the serious part easy: check the name, choose a plan, pay.

Solution

A site with a memorable character (Larry the Lemur, Agent 001), name check on the first screen, fixed-price plans, same-day and non-resident options and a customer login. InfoWebPlus built the custom front end in 2023, with a knowledge base shared with 121 Company Formation.

Full analysis

001 Formation Agent sells UK company formation online with a brand you remember: a lemur called Larry, "Agent 001". InfoWebPlus built the site's custom front end inside a closed, static CMS and is credited as Technical Partner in the footer. This case study looks at how a clear personality and a simple buying path work together on a service website.

The client

001 Formation Agent (001formationagent.co.uk) registers UK companies and supports them after incorporation, including tax and accounting. The site says it has registered businesses since 2013. As checked on 2 November 2026, it shows:

  • four limited company plans with fixed prices: Basic 114.95 pounds, Standard 197.99 pounds, Advanced 247.99 pounds and Premium 511.99 pounds;
  • LLP, Limited by Guarantee and Non-Residents packages;
  • a guaranteed same-day incorporation option;
  • a new Director Compliance Protection service that monitors a company's Companies House record;
  • free business banking referrals with partners such as Tide, Barclays, ANNA, Cashplus and Countingup.

These are the client's own offers and claims, not results of our work.

The challenge

Company formation is a crowded market where most websites look and sound the same. The site has to stand out, and still make the serious part easy: check the name, choose a plan, pay, and get the company registered.

What the site does

  • A brand with a character. Larry the Lemur, "Agent 001", and spy-film wordplay run through the site, so it is easy to recognise and remember.
  • Name check on the first screen. "Go ahead. Type your company name." The order starts straight from the home page.
  • Plans with fixed prices. Four plans side by side, each with what is included and a "Buy now" button.
  • Options for urgent and non-UK customers. A guaranteed same-day incorporation service and a Non-Residents package are offered during the order.
  • New services on top. The home page announces Director Compliance Protection in a banner, so returning customers see what is new.
  • Customer login. Customers log in to an admin portal to manage their companies after formation.

Our role: a custom design and a shared knowledge base

George Barbu of InfoWebPlus worked on the front end of 001 Formation Agent in 2023. Like 121 Company Formation, a second brand of the same business, the site runs on a closed, static CMS supplied by eFiling: no backend access, no API and no dynamic rendering, with updates uploaded as raw HTML files. The brief was to implement a fully custom design and keep one knowledge base shared by both brands. The work covered:

  • Routing without a server. A templating and file-naming system with strict naming and folder conventions mirrors dynamic routes. A Gulp.js workflow generates and places the files, so non-technical team members can publish updates without breaking the structure.
  • One knowledge base, two brands. The CMS cannot reuse content, so shared sections such as FAQs, service descriptions and legal information live once as HTML partials and are injected into both sites at build time. That removes duplicated text and the risk of the two sites drifting apart.
  • Interactive features within the CMS limits. Modular JavaScript for tabbed content, form validation and dynamic UI elements is bundled with minified CSS and uploaded through the CMS file library.

Stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Gulp.js and Webpack.

InfoWebPlus is credited as Technical Partner in the site footer.

Where it stands

The site is live and selling online. We do not publish order, traffic or conversion figures that we cannot back up.

What a local business can take from this

  • Personality is allowed. A friendly character or a clear tone helps people remember you among similar businesses.
  • Keep the path to buy short. Name, plan, pay: every extra step costs customers.
  • Announce what is new where people look. A short banner at the top tells visitors about a new service without redesigning the page.
